Editorial Policy

How we choose sources

We choose evidence that can answer the specific question:

• Official announcements and documentation establish release information, supported platforms, named features and changes announced by the developer or publisher.
• Current storefront listings support edition contents, regional prices and availability. These details can vary by retailer, region and date.
• Gameplay recordings, menus and in-game documents support puzzle steps, routes, item descriptions and rewards. We check the visible action or text rather than infer a mechanic from a video's title.
• Reviews and specialist reporting provide technical measurements, comparisons and further leads. A recommendation is not proof of an exact game mechanic.
• Lore references help locate background from the first CONTROL. Where possible, we trace a claim back to the game dialogue or collectible it describes.

When sources disagree, we compare their dates, game versions, regions and the evidence each provides. We do not treat several articles repeating the same claim as independent confirmation. An unresolved claim stays out of an instruction or is described as uncertain when that uncertainty matters to the reader.

From evidence to a guide

We combine supported findings into routes, steps, comparisons and troubleshooting advice. A recording can establish what happens at a particular point; it does not, by itself, prove that every build, difficulty or quest state behaves identically. We avoid adding numerical effects, requirements or causal explanations that the source does not establish.

Research based on another creator's recording is not presented as our own playthrough. Guide verification notes, source lists and media credits identify the evidence used. Exact prices, quantities and reward names should match a visible menu, reward screen or other direct source.

Names and uncertain information

Official names and names visible in the game take priority. When a community name is useful for finding an activity, we distinguish it from an official term. Rumors and unsupported names are not presented as established facts.

Verification notes describe the evidence behind a page. They do not mean that every guide displays a separate Verified, Community or Unconfirmed badge.

Authorship and tools

We use research and writing tools, including AI, to organize source material, compare findings and draft or revise text. The site's editors are responsible for what is published. AI output is not a source, and a fluent explanation is not proof.

Our editorial standard is to check factual claims against traceable material, preserve source credits and leave unsupported details out. We do not invent quotations, sources or first-hand experience. If a published claim does not meet that standard, it needs correction.

Sources, images and video

Guide source lists link to the material used for research. Image and video credits identify their creators or original publishers. Credits describe provenance; they do not transfer ownership of the material.

Fan-prepared images are identified separately from official releases. Where an image has been cropped, upscaled or expanded with AI, the accompanying gallery description explains the treatment. Such images are not evidence of an in-game location or mechanic.

Spoilers

Guides carry a page-level spoiler designation: none, light or heavy. Boss names, locations and solutions can reveal progression. Collapsible spoiler sections are used where appropriate, but they do not hide every gameplay detail on a guide page. Check the page's spoiler designation before reading further.

Corrections and updates

Email help@controlresonantgame.com with the page URL, the disputed statement and supporting material. Useful evidence includes a current official announcement, a menu screenshot or a timestamped recording.

We check the evidence and revise the affected answer when a correction is supported. The page's last-updated date records a substantive content edit. A build or layout-only change does not make an old fact newly verified, and the date is not a claim that every external link or store listing was rechecked that day.

Advertising and affiliate links

Advertising supports the site and does not serve as evidence for a guide recommendation. If a page includes affiliate links, we identify them there. Advertising and analytics data practices are described in our privacy policy.
