How do you beat The Park Resonant in Control Resonant?
On this page
Complete The Park Resonant by eating four pieces of Delicious Mold, returning to the central Mold Gate, and defeating The Collective. Follow the four locations below, then use the boss and ability sections to finish the hunt. The Pizzeria section also covers the missing interaction prompt and yellow fog.
Should you eat the mold in The Park Resonant?
Yes — eat it to advance the quest. First inspect the cafe's Piece of Delicious Mold and listen to Zoe. The quest enters your log before the first bite, with the objective Eat the Cafe Mold. Eat the sample to move on to the remaining three locations.
Is The Park Resonant optional?
Yes. The Park Resonant is optional for finishing the story, and you can complete it during the Epilogue. It belongs to Defeating Resonants in the quest log. Clear it for the Mold ability choice, Untapped Face Mask, and Insidious Growth trophy.
How to start The Park Resonant: cafe and first mold
Head down into the central pit of The Park and find the cafe's outdoor table beside the DO NOT INGEST sign.
- Inspect the Piece of Delicious Mold and let the conversation finish.
- Check the objective: Eat the Cafe Mold.
- Interact with the sample again to eat it, then head for the Pizzeria, Minimart and Gym.
- The Piece of Delicious Mold on the cafe table in the central pit
- The eat prompt over the cafe mold, with Eat the Cafe Mold already tracked
All four Delicious Mold locations
The cafe counts as the first of four pieces. Visit the Pizzeria, Minimart and Gym in whichever order suits your route.
| Piece | Where | How |
|---|---|---|
| Cafe mold | Central pit cafe, on the outdoor table | Inspect, then eat |
| Pizzeria mold | Paradise PIZZA PLACE, on a booth table | Underground walkway → pipe → FBC arrows |
| Minimart mold | Urban Fresh Mart, on the counter display | Clear the nearby enemies to open the door |
| Gym mold | The Gym, on the reception desk | Clear the nearby enemies to open the door |
The Pizzeria route
Reach the Pizzeria through the underground route:
- Take the underground walkway and enter the round pipe.
- Follow the yellow FBC arrows painted on the walls. Use the arrows themselves to choose your turns.
- Fight through the ambush and continue to the street by Paradise PIZZA PLACE.
- Enter the shop and find the mold on a booth table.
- Enter the round pipe in the underground route, arrow added
- Follow the FBC arrow painted on the wall, arrow added
How to open the Mold Gate in the central pit
With all four pieces eaten, return to the Mold Gate in the central pit. The objective updates to Kill the Resonant Behind the Mold Gate and the way in opens. If it does not, count your pieces — cafe, Pizzeria, Minimart, Gym — before looking for other causes.
How to beat The Collective: tentacles, core and Shift
The Collective fights from a mold pool, behind a wall of tentacles:
- Clear the tentacles as they rise — they are what keeps the boss closed.
- Hit the exposed core. The ball-shaped weak point opens between the tentacles; that is your damage window.
- Use Shift and repeat. Move between the gravity planes to reach the active tentacles. Clear them, then attack the exposed core again.
Fire helps against Mold enemies in the Park. The ability section below explains the Infected and Burn pairing.
Spore Burst or Growth? Abilities and stats
Beating The Collective opens a Combat Ability Selection between two Mold abilities:
| Ability | What it does | Stats at Ability Strength 3 (150%) |
|---|---|---|
| Spore Burst | Rapidly fire Mold projectiles at a target, building up Infected | Damage 18–180, Falter 2–15, Power Cost 200 |
| Growth | Summon a Mold Ally that shoots spores, building up Infected over time | Damage 11, Falter 2, Power Cost 200, Mold Ally Cap 2 |
- The Spore Burst card in the Combat Ability Selection screen
- The Growth card in the Combat Ability Selection screen
Choose one ability after the fight; the Mural in The Gap lets you change the choice later.
Choose Spore Burst if you want to aim Mold projectiles yourself, or Growth if you want a Mold Ally to shoot spores while you fight.
Both abilities build Infected, which deals Mold damage over time. Combine Infected with Burn to trigger an explosion. Ignite, obtained from The Deserter, gives you a fire option for this pairing.
Pizzeria mold prompt missing and yellow fog
Check the mold on the booth table for the interaction prompt, even while yellow fog is present.
Rewards: Insidious Growth trophy and artifact
Completion grants the ability choice above plus, in the recorded run:
| Reward | Note |
|---|---|
| Untapped Face Mask | Artifact |
| Reset Item ×1 | Respec item |
| 3,000 Source | Currency |
| Insidious Growth | Trophy |
The approach footage shows a Health Upgrade Point notification at 2/3. Collect three points to increase maximum health.
